Anthesis Opens New Office in Manchester

26 July 2016

Our new office at 40 King Street, Manchester, is now open, expanding our portfolio in the North West alongside our other location in Macclesfield.

Architects Ollier Smurthwaite, who will also be based in the upper floors of the building, are responsible for overseeing the design and refurbishment of 40 King Street, and have done a fantastic job of bringing a contemporary Scandinavian influence to the interior’s design. The refurbishment is still underway, with neighbouring suites in the final stages of completion, as well as plans for a magnificent atrium to take centre place in the building. We’re really excited to be co-located with partners Five Lines Consulting, as well as being just a short distance down the road from a number of our clients.

The history behind 40 King Street, Manchester…

King Street Manchester first came into existence in the early 18th century – and there’s a remarkable history for our very address at 40 King Street.

Impressively, our new workspace was the stomping ground of the notable chemist, Thomas Henry. Famous for a number of achievements, including devising a process for preparing magnesia alba (earning him the name ‘Magnesia Henry’!), he was also the father of William Henry, who famously conceived Henry’s Law in the 19th Century. And so with three of our world class sustainable chemistry team being based here in the Manchester office, we’d like to think we’re continuing the legacy of the building’s prestigious previous occupiers.
