Our infographic compares two outfits on there sustainability. The material used and where it was sourced from makes a big impact on how 'sustainable' the outfit is, which is then given a score on the Higg Index.
What is the Higg Index?
The Higg Index is an indicator based assessment tool for apparel and footwear products, helping to drive environmental responsibility across the supply chains of fashion businesses. It was developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, a group of over 200 global brands and organizations, including Anthesis.
Higg Index data enables retail companies, manufacturers and various other organizations to access powerful environmental data which can then be harnessed in a multitude of ways. The new Module 3.0 tool and analytics dashboard allow brands to compare environmental metrics and benchmark against peers in the supply chain. The data also gives companies a solid base from which they can develop a business and environmental strategy.
The same metrics found using the Higg Index can also be directly utilized in various reporting frameworks, such as GRI, CDP and other reports that use the Science Based Targets Initiative.
