Sharing the Sustainability Achievements of ABP Food Group

30 November 2014

ABP Food Group is one of Europe’s leading food processors; it works with 35,000 farmers and is renowned for its beef. ABP asked Anthesis (then trading as M4C) to communicate the sustainability achievements of the company.

ABP introduced green corridors around its sites to increase biodiversity, planting eight hectares of woodland, developing 12 hectares of wetland, setting up bee hotels and planting water flowers. Anthesis created a short animated video to raise awareness of this initiative both internally and externally. Using a light-hearted tone the video communicated the key points in an entertaining manner, highlighting what ABP has done and why.

ABP won a triple award certification from the Carbon Trust for its work on waste, water and energy. A series of infographics were created to celebrate this award, offering easily digestible information on the company’s performance, using contextualized data. The infographics were designed to be easily used in a variety of formats; for example, interactive webpages, posters, display banners or incorporated into videos.

Finally, a newsreel was created which ABP could use to show external visitors to their sites how much progress the company had made towards its sustainability goals. The newsreel provides an engaging summary of ABP’s journey, and was designed to be easily adaptable for use with different audiences and locations.

Seamus Banim, Group Communications Director of ABP, said:

“Anthesis (then trading as M4C) are a leading light when it comes to sustainability communications. While offering the important back up and services of a generalist practice they bring unrivalled expertise, insights and subject knowledge on all relevant sustainability issues. Their skill set is wide ranging and includes valuable strategic advice, external research, case study preparation and new media communications solutions.”
