What do you Know About the Harm in your Office?

11 November 2015

Are you confident all the minerals in your electronic devices have been sourced from conflict-free zones? Have you given a second thought to what will happen to your printer once it’s given up the ghost?

The time products spend sitting in our offices is just a small proportion of their overall life…and they’re likely to have parts in them which have come from, and will go on to, far-flung destinations that half of us will never do more than look at on a map!

Our next North West Sustainable Business Quarterly is about just this: ‘the harm in your office’.

Join us on Thursday 3rd December to find out more about the life cycle of the products we use in our everyday lives, and what is being done to gain transparency and responsibility – from world sourcing and product mapping, to end-of-life disposal. Circularity – designing products and materials that are regenerative by design – will be a key theme of the evening. With the EU planning to announce its revised circular economy package just the day before, we are hopeful the evening will be an opportunity to discuss this in more detail too.

We’re pleased that we’ll be joined by Mark Shayler, Director of Ape, and Tracey Rawling Church, Head of CSR at Kyocera Document Solutions UK who will both give short presentations on why you should take the time to consider what harm there may be in your office, and what you can do to reduce it. After the Q&A, roundtables will provide the perfect chance to focus discussions – how do we get business to buy services rather than products? What needs to happen to enable wide scale cradle to cradle product design?

Please sign up and find out more here or get in touch with me at nwsbq@anthesisgroup.com for more info.

Hope to see you in Manchester on 3rd December.
